Sustainable and secure aquafeed supply chains are imperative to meeting market demands and the development of a competitive and resilient aquaculture sector in the EU in line with the Strategic guidelines for a more sustainable and competitive EU aquaculture [1].
However, aquafeed supply chains face challenges: geopolitical conflicts impacting commodity prices and supply chain security; climate change impacts on reduction fishery and other ingredient supply chain dynamics; and rising consumer demands and regulatory requirements for traceability and transparency.
This study aims to document and analyse the current status of the aquafeed, aquafeed ingredient and aquafeed additive sector for key species within European aquaculture across market and trade dynamics, alternative ingredients, environmental impacts, and supply chain traceability.
This survey is part of the European Commission project CINEA/EMFAF/2024/3.1/01/SC02/SI2.929372 Study on feed for aquaculture – aquafeed.
The survey should take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
